LIVING GREEN
Like m anyparents, Beth Eslinger
and Brian Button are trying to
raise good stewards of the Earth,
and they’re doing it by example. They live close to work for
a shorter commute, are committed recyclers, and involve
their kids in raising organic veggies at a community garden.
“Brian has always been an environmentalist,” says Beth. “It
took me longer to come around, but now it’s a way of life.”
Naturally, when it was time to take their dated 1960s
living room from stiff and standoffish to warm and welcom-
ing, green was a lot more than a color on a paint chip. It was a
guiding principle as Beth and Brian researched eco-friendly
products from paint to flooring to furniture. Here’s what they
discovered and how they put it into practice.
